Grow your own: Family allotment workshop
Get your hands dirty and your curiosity growing at this fun, hands-on family workshop! This workshop is a brilliant introduction to where your food comes from and how to grow your own – perfect for green-fingered beginners of all ages.
The morning will begin with a behind-the-scenes look at Trewithen’s new allotment, including photos of how the garden team built the beds – from layering compost and manure to clever planting layouts. Then it’s time to explore the allotment on foot, spotting what’s growing and learning how to care for fruit and veg throughout the seasons.
To finish off the morning, our garden workbench will be set up with compost and pots , providing everything you need to pot up a plant from the allotment, to take home and grow. Children and grown-ups alike will also have the chance to pick their own produce, taking home a goody bag of fruit or veg!
