Willow Weaving with Jasmine Fassenfelt
On Wednesday 11th June, local artist and sculptor, Jasmine Fassenfelt will be leading a morning of willow weaving at Trewithen from 10am until 1pm. In this workshop, you'll learn the traditional techniques of willow weaving, creating two of your own handcrafted cone bird-feeders, perfect for fat balls and treats, or to hang as decorative fruit and vegetable baskets. You will get to keep your creations to hang in your garden or kitchen, or to gift to someone.
Perfect for first-time weavers or those wanting to learn some new techniques, this workshop offers a gentle introduction to the craft. While weaving can be a little fiddly, it’s suitable for adults and older children who enjoy working with their hands and trying something new.
If the sun is shining then the workshop will be held in the gardens, just outside the Tea Shed. All materials, including sustainably grown willow, are provided. The morning will run at a relaxed pace with a break in the middle, and refreshments available from the Tea Shed throughout the session.
