Cyanotype Printing Workshop with Judith Tutin

A hands-on workshop held at Trewithen Gardens on Saturday 24th May from 11am until 2pm. Judith Tutin, talented local artist and teacher, will guide you through each step of the cyanotype process. You’ll forage for seasonal foliage in the gardens, arrange your own compositions, and create unique prints to take home.

One of the earliest forms of photography, cyanotype printing uses light-sensitive solutions and the power of sunlight to preserve the intricate details of leaves, flowers, and other natural forms in striking blue prints. The process famously became popularised by botanist Anna Atkins, who used it to create what is considered the first book of photographic images.

Whether you’re a curious beginner or a seasoned creative, this session is a wonderful way to slow down and explore a fascinating blend of science and art. All materials are provided, as well entry to the gardens, and refreshments from The Tea Shed café will be available throughout the session.
